I stopped to breathe this afternoon, to realise that it was already the end of January. 2011!!
We have had Christmas and started a new year... Yet it feels asif last year has just extended and we have kept on running… there is a part of me that although I know we had the festive season, almost still expects it to come around the corner!
2010 was a wonderful year. Growth, development, opportunity, achievement, health, happiness and love. Hard for some, but for us we can only toast it and wish it a fond farewell. I hope that 2011 is just as good!
Hayley finished her last days at Creche, had 5 weeks of holiday, and has subsequently started at BIG SCHOOL with ease.
Christmas was wonderful and celebrated in good fashion. The house was decorated and the tree raised…. Water and carrots were put out for the reindeer, and sherry and cookies left for Santa next to the tree. One little madam excitedly woke on Christmas morning to squeals of delight to see that Santa had indeed visited. And visit he did! Hello Kitty items galore.. and ofcourse the requested pink hand-bag and pink swimming goggles.
A wonderful lunch with all family, again allowed us to reflect on just how lucky and blessed we actually are.
Busy December holidays with visits to Lion Parks, the Zoo, the theatre and much more! January slipped in while we were not watching and Dave and I returned to working schedules.. with Nana holding the Hayley fort!
The 19th of Jan, Hayley started at Michael Mount Waldorf. This will be her school home for the next 10+ years of her schooling career. Her teacher is Mrs Salter, and she has already made new friends and is embarking on new adventures. She is a confident child and is loving the journey as is her way. A change of routine, which Mom and Dad are taking some getting used to, I have no doubt that Hayley will be very happy!
So... 2011! A brand new canvas on which to paint many a new picture! Already a month in, I have a feeling this year again may race right past us.. The objective I think should be ‘to live in the moment’ and savor each step.. dont live for what is to come.. or long for what has been.. just love what actually is!
Stay tuned! xxx
