Shnubi

There are many words that people come up with. They mean very little to the outsider, but yet to those in the know they mean it all. They are key words that trigger memories, images, smells, descriptions. They have no lifespan and last as long as their need requires.

They can be a single word or a phrase. Think back to childhood when you had a word to describe something cool, something new, something old, something 'naff', a sound, a nickname. Where these words or phrases come from is as unknown as the words themselves. They are often completely useless and meaningless to anyone else, but yet retain that special place in your mind as to what it is they refer too. Nicknames, slang, and anything else. Nothing is sacred!

Now. The relevance of this is because of a sound or sounds made when falling asleep made by a person... That person would be me! Although I am not or have not been and probably never will be privy to this is due to the fact that I am asleep when it happens! Ingrid swears by it. She developed it and coined the word, and its stuck! Shnubi's! But now we have seen it elsewhere. In our beautiful little girl. The noises she makes are miniature versions of the real thing! But alas they are true and the name has stuck. Its a nickname and it suits her. Its our name for her. It may stay, it may not. All we know is that, for now, it is her. It describes her. It is her to us!

So there we go. Our Shnubi!

Have a look and see if you see it, or picture what the sounds may be.
